Refs cannot be read inside Effects
React freezes current before an Effect runs
Changing current does not trigger a render, so React cannot detect it as a reactive update
Effect dependencies are compared after renders. Because changing ref.current does not cause a render, React has no reactive update to observe for that dependency.
Effect dependency arrays accept only strings
